With the Motto “Service to man is service to God”, the Department of Prosthetics and Orthotics started rendering services in 2011, under the MGM Medical College and Hospital, Navi Mumbai.

Since its establishment, the department aims to make “Divyangjan” free of special challenges that they face and empower them to lead a better quality life. This has been further enhanced by the approval for starting the Bachelors in Prosthetics and Orthotics, or the BPO Programme since the academic year 2016-17.

Our students have been participating in all the extension activities planned by the MGM Institute of Health Sciences like Swachha Bharat Abhiyan, Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, NSS activities and various projects organized by the Institutions Innovation Council (IIC) at MGMIHS, which itself is governed by the MHRD. Research and innovation is an integral part of our academics. The institute also promotes student exposure towards National and International Level Conferences by encouraging them to present papers and posters in the same. Besides this, the industry –academia relationship is blooming by the industrial visits of our students to different Multinational Companies (MNCs).
